Project Log

Recent Job Site Projects in Brisbane and SEQ

We deliver clean, durable floor preparation across Queensland. Here are project logs from recent client sites:

Every transformation featured in our gallery represents meticulous attention to detail, from initial substrate moisture testing and adhesive removal through to planetary grinding, chemical densification, and protective epoxy or polyurethane coating applications. We document our work so homeowners, architects, and builders can witness the dramatic visual and structural upgrade delivered by professional floor preparation.

  • Heavy Machinery: Multi-disc diamond grinders level high spots fast.
  • Clean Air: Triple-filter HEPA vacuums trap silica dust at the tool head.
  • Solid Bonds: Slabs are ground to open pores for long-lasting floor coatings.
Hamilton, BrisbanePolished Concrete

Riverfront Home: Polished Floor

The original concrete slab had rain marks and rough spots. Our crew cut back the surface and polished it to a high shine.

  • • Slab prep: Diamond grinding removed the weak surface layer.
  • • Hardening: Liquid silicate densifier tightened the concrete pores.
  • • Fine polish: Progressive resin pads created a durable, reflective floor.

Result: High-gloss natural finish with zero plastic coating to peel.

Paddington, BrisbaneTile Removal

Heritage Home: Dust-Free Tile Removal

The owner needed 95m² of brittle tiles removed without harming the timber floorboards below. We kept the home clean.

  • • Dust control: Sealed doorways and HEPA vacuums trapped fine silica dust.
  • • Tile stripping: Motorized strippers peeled tiles cleanly off the subfloor.
  • • Glue scraping: Diamond scrapers removed dried glue ridges cleanly.

Result: Clean subfloor ready for new timber boards without any mess.

Carindale, BrisbaneGarage Epoxy

Double Garage: Epoxy Flake Coating

Old paint was peeling under warm car tyres. We ground the slab clean and applied a heavy-duty flake system.

  • • Surface grind: Diamond tooling opened the pores for strong bonding.
  • • Crack repair: Epoxy mortar filled hairline cracks across the floor.
  • • Flake broadcast: Decorative vinyl flakes were sealed with clear topcoats.

Result: Tough, seamless garage floor that resists hot tyres and oil spills.

Newstead, BrisbaneFloor Levelling

Commercial Shop: Subfloor Flatness

The concrete slab had high ridges and low dips. We flattened the surface to meet strict Australian Standard AS 1884.

  • • Laser check: Mapped the floor to find all high and low spots.
  • • High-spot grinding: Shaved down concrete humps using coarse diamonds.
  • • Smoothing: Poured self-levelling compound into low areas.

Result: Dead-flat floor ready for luxury vinyl planks under warranty.

Robina, Gold CoastConcrete Sealing

Pool Deck: Non-Slip Concrete Sealer

The outdoor pool aggregate had dirt, mould, and slippery spots. We cleaned the stone and applied a non-slip seal.

  • • Deep wash: High-pressure cleaners removed dirt and tree stains.
  • • Diamond hone: Light sanding smoothed sharp stone edges.
  • • Protective seal: Two coats of non-slip sealer sealed the surface.

Result: Safe, non-slip pool surround protected against salt and chlorine.

Bulimba, BrisbaneCrack Repair

Slab Repair: Epoxy Crack Stitching

Soil movement caused cracks across a ground-floor slab. We stitched the fractures to stop future shifting and cracking.

  • • Crack cutting: Diamond blades opened each crack for deep filling.
  • • Carbon stitches: Embedded rigid carbon rods across each fracture line.
  • • Epoxy bonding: High-strength resin bonded the cracked slab solid.

Result: Solid slab surface ready for new tiles or timber boards.

  • • Glue removal: Belt sanders stripped away old carpet glue cleanly.
  • • Edge sanding: Rotary edgers smoothed wood right to the wall skirting.
  • • Clear finish: Three coats of durable satin polyurethane sealed the timber.

Result: Natural wood grain restored with strong resistance to daily wear.

Eagle Farm, BrisbaneIndustrial Grinding

Warehouse Shed: Concrete Grinding and Sealing

A commercial warehouse had dusty concrete and tyre marks. We ground the surface clean and hardened the slab.

  • • Heavy grind: Twin planetary grinders removed surface grime and stains.
  • • Dust capture: Vacuum lines trapped concrete dust as we worked.
  • • Silicate seal: Liquid hardener stopped future concrete dusting.

Result: Dust-free, hardened concrete floor ready for forklift traffic.

Problem Solving

Common Subfloor Problems We Fix in Brisbane

Every concrete slab has unique issues. Here is how our team solves common floor challenges:

Problem 01

Rain-Damaged Concrete

Heavy rain washes away surface cement during concrete pours. This leaves a dusty top layer that causes coatings to fail.

  • • Fix: We grind down 2–4mm to reach hard, solid aggregate.
  • • Result: Solid base for tiles, timber, or epoxy.
Problem 02

Old Carpet and Tile Glue

Old black glue and tile adhesive stick firmly to concrete. Regular sanding only melts and smears the sticky residue.

  • • Fix: Diamond scraper blades peel glue off cleanly.
  • • Result: Clean bare slab with zero chemical fumes.
Problem 03

Rising Slab Moisture

Groundwater moisture moves through unsealed concrete. This dampness destroys timber glue and causes epoxy bubbles.

  • • Fix: We roll two-part epoxy moisture barrier coats.
  • • Result: Complete seal against dampness up to 100% RH.
Problem 04

Uneven Slab Joints

Concrete edges curl up at joint lines as slabs dry. This makes uneven ridges that create trip hazards under new vinyl.

  • • Fix: Heavy diamond grinders plane down high joint edges.
  • • Result: Dead-flat floor that meets AS 1884 standards.
Problem 05

Peeling Garage Paint

Cheap hardware store paint softens under warm tyres. The paint sticks to rubber treads and peels off in patches.

  • • Fix: Diamond grinding strips old paint to bare stone.
  • • Result: Two-pack commercial epoxy that never lifts.
Problem 06

Tile Mortar Ridges

Lifting ceramic tiles leaves thick, bumpy mortar ridges on the floor. Hand chiselling is slow and gouges the slab.

  • • Fix: Rotary grinding discs shave mortar ridges flat.
  • • Result: Smooth, level surface ready for new flooring.
Trade FAQs

Questions About Our Flooring Projects

What is the AS 1884 subfloor flatness standard?

Australian Standard AS 1884 requires subfloors to have no bump greater than 3mm under a 3-metre straight-edge. Our diamond grinders plane down high spots to meet this rule.

Frequently Asked Questions

Answers to common questions about our Brisbane job site transformations, preparation methods, and turnaround times.

Do you provide free written quotes?

Yes. Quotes are free, itemised and provided in writing, usually within one business day of us understanding the scope. For larger or more complex jobs we prefer to inspect the site first, because slab condition changes the price and we would rather be accurate than fast.

How much dust does the work actually create?

Far less than traditional methods, but not zero. Our grinders and tile lifters run HEPA-filtered extraction at the point of impact, which captures the large majority of airborne silica dust before it travels. You should still seal off adjacent rooms and remove soft furnishings from the work area, and we will tell you exactly what to prepare before we arrive.

Are you qualified and insured?

Yes. Founder Tahmid Ahasan holds the MSF30822 Certificate III in Flooring Technology (Resin), and we carry public liability insurance. We are happy to provide our certificate of currency before work starts.

How soon can you start?

Usually within one to two weeks, depending on the size of the job and where it sits in the schedule. Urgent work can sometimes be accommodated, particularly if you are holding up other trades. Give us a call and we will tell you honestly what is available.

Want a floor like this?

Tell us the suburb, the floor area and what you are after. We will come back with a clear, written quote.
